Something of Value

Here is your Friday story,

I recently returned from presenting a workshop in Cincinnati, and when I pulled up to the parking attendant’s booth at the airport, I handed him my ticket and he flashed me a huge grin and said, “Hello! That’ll be $30.50.”

“$30.50?” I echoed, incredulous. “I was only here for 24 hours. I just want to pay for parking—I don’t want to buy the place!”

He laughed and said, “Yep, it’s $30.50 for 24 hours’ parking. So how was your trip? Did you have a good time?”

I was still in a bit of shock at the price, but he was being so friendly that any temptation I had to become frustrated started to fade away. I chatted with him a little about my trip, asked him about his day, and paid my bill, feeling a lot better than I probably would have if he hadn’t been so nice.

Now, some people might say that this gentleman had a right to be unhappy and cranky—after all, his job probably isn’t always very pleasant. He has to deal with grouchy people who resent paying $30.50 for 24 hours’ parking, he has to work in a closed space without much opportunity to move around or get visual stimulation, and he probably doesn’t make all that much money. Yet this fellow was giving value unconditionally, without an obvious or immediate payback for doing so.

What he understood, which I try to help others understand, is that the more value you offer unconditionally, the more abundance you’ll enjoy. Giving with strings attached creates feelings of fear (What if I don’t get a return on what I give?) and lack (I don’t have enough to justify giving to others without a clear benefit to me). Giving unconditionally creates feelings of abundance.

People who feel wealthy and blessed and who bring value to their jobs regardless of their pay let the Universe know that they’re ready to receive even more wealth. They may get a raise or an unexpected windfall, or they could attract the attention of someone who wants to hire them for a better job. As I drove away from that parking garage, I thought about how much value and enthusiasm that gentleman brings to his work if he is able to deal with grumpy customers all day long and by early evening still have joy to share with others. I thought, I would like to hire that fellow! I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he gets a promotion, a raise, or a more lucrative position somewhere, and I imagine that he leads a rich and abundant life outside of his job.

When you give value unconditionally, you’ll receive it in return—and the more you give, the more value and abundance you’ll receive. People who offer the minimal amount at their job, always rushing out the door at exactly 5 p.m. and never showing any initiative, are missing the opportunity to create abundance or value and reap the benefits.

There are many ways to offer value. My husband, son, and I live next to a golf course. At the end of the week, Michel will gather up all of the balls in our yard, put them in egg cartons, and sell them to golfers at a fraction of the cost of new ones. When he approaches a potential customer, he’ll give them a free ball. Whether or not they decide to buy a dozen from him, this ball is theirs to keep. The golfers feel positive about him and are more inspired to buy a box from him, if not today, then sometime in the future.

You can offer value through creative ideas, suggestions for how to make your company work more efficiently, enthusiasm that inspires others, hard work, diligence and attention to detail, and going the extra mile in a crisis.

If you’re thinking of finding different work, or you’ve been considering making a change for a long time but feel paralyzed and unsure of what to do next, start by creating positive feelings so that you can access your passion and creativity. You’ll get clarity about what you want to do next and avoid making the kind of mistakes we commit when we operate from negative feelings such as fear and lack. You won’t jump from one unrewarding job to the next; instead, you’ll find new, better opportunities opening up for you in response to the feelings of abundance, enthusiasm, and worthiness you’ve created. You’ll recognize your beneficial purpose, value it, and attract more resources and wealth by giving unconditionally, letting your abundance flow into the Universe, and opening yourself to receive.

INSIGHT of the DAY

The Impression of Increase

To hear the audio from today's message please click here:

In so far as your business consists in dealing with other people - whether directly, by telephone, or by letter - the key thought of all your efforts must be to convey to their mind the impression of increase.

Increase is what all men and all women are seeking. It is the urge of the formless intelligence within them to find fuller expression.

The desire for increase is inherent in all nature. It is the fundamental impulse of the universe. All human activities are based on the desire for increase. People are seeking more food, more clothes, better shelter, more luxury, more beauty, more knowledge, more pleasure - more life.

Every living thing is under that necessity for continuous advancement. Where increase of life ceases, dissolution and death set in at once.

People instinctively know this, and hence they are forever seeking more. This law of perpetual increase is set forth by Jesus in the parable of the talents. Only those who gain more retain any. "From him who hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath."

The normal desire for increased wealth is not an evil or a reprehensible thing. It is simply the desire for a more abundant life. And, because it is the deepest instinct of their natures, all men and women are attracted to an individual who can give them more of the means of life.

The Secret Gratitude Journal

A Secret Scrolls message from Rhonda Byrne,

Creator of The Secret

Two words which will change your life!

There are two words that, when spoken, have the most unfathomable power to completely change your life. Two words which, when they pass your lips, will be the cause of bringing absolute joy and happiness to you. Two words that will create miracles in your life. Two words that will wipe out negativity. Two words that will bring you abundance in all things. Two words which, when uttered and sincerely felt, will summon all the forces and vibrations in the Universe to move all things for you.

The only thing standing between you, happiness, and the life of your dreams, are two words...

THANK YOU

Gratitude is one of the easiest and most powerful ways to transform your life. If you become truly grateful, you will magnetize absolute joy to you everywhere you go, and in everything you do. In fact, without gratitude, nothing can ever change. Your life will change to the degree that you use gratitude and begin to feel grateful. If you are just a little bit grateful, your life will change a little bit. If you are very grateful, your whole life will change. If you live gratitude every single day, you will become one of the greatest human beings on the planet, and the light of your life will uplift our world.

The greatest human beings who have ever lived showed us the way with gratitude, and by their example became shining lights in our history. Einstein said "thank you" hundreds of times every single day! Ancient wisdom dating back thousands of years gave us the truth about gratitude. Every single religion speaks of giving thanks. All the sages and saviors of the world demonstrated the use of gratitude in all their teachings.

Of the thousands of letters we receive from people whose lives have become miracles after experiencing The Secret, every single one of them has made gratitude their way of life. It is impossible to be negative when you are giving thanks. It is impossible to criticize or blame when you are feeling grateful. It is impossible to feel sad when you are in gratitude. Most people are sporadically grateful, however, to change your life with gratitude, a new way of learning how to be truly grateful is what will bring unlimited happiness into your life.

So how do you live in gratitude? Begin your day by feeling grateful. Be grateful for the bed you just slept in, the roof over your head, the carpet or floor under your feet, the running water, the soap, your shower, your toothbrush, your clothes, your shoes, the car that you drive, your job, your friends, your refrigerator that keeps your food cold. Be grateful for the weather, the sun, the sky, the birds, the trees, the grass, the rain, and the flowers. Be grateful for the stores that make it so easy to buy the things you need, the restaurants, the utilities and services and electrical appliances that make your life effortless. Be grateful for magazines and the books that you read. Be grateful for the chair that you sit on, and the pavement that you walk on. Be grateful for your favorite music that sweeps you away, and for movies that make you feel good. Be grateful for your phone that connects you with people, for your computer, for the electricity that lights up your life. Be grateful for air travel that flies you everywhere. Be grateful for the roads and traffic lights that keep the traffic in order. Be grateful to those who built our bridges. Be grateful for your pet, for your child, for your loved ones, for your eyes that enable you to read this. Be grateful for your imagination. Be grateful that you can think! Be grateful that you can speak. Be grateful that you can laugh and smile. Be grateful that you can breathe! Be grateful that you are alive! Be grateful that you are You! Be grateful that there are two words that can change your life!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

The more that you practice gratitude the more deeply you will feel it in your heart, and the depth of the feeling is the key. The more deeply and sincerely you feel it, the more you will bring absolute bliss and happiness on every single subject. Watch what happens in your life when you practice gratitude every single day and in every single moment and in every opportunity that you can. Remember, if you are criticizing, you are not being grateful. If you are blaming, you are not being grateful. If you are complaining, you are not being grateful. If you are feeling tension, you are not being grateful. If you are rushing, you are not being grateful. If you are in a bad mood, you are not being grateful.

To understand the power and the magic of gratitude, you have to experience it for yourself. So why not begin by deciding to find 100 things a day to be grateful for? As you practice gratitude every day, it won't take long before gratitude is your natural state of being, and when it happens you will have unlocked one of the greatest Secrets to Life.

This week the United States is celebrating giving thanks with Thanksgiving Day. To inspire everyone to use gratitude, not just for one day but for every single day, The Secret is giving away 9,000 special edition Secret Gratitude Journals, which are beautiful, leather-bound journals. This gift is one journal per person, and the only cost for you is shipping.

For The Secret Gratitude Journal gift, click here.

There is just one other thing that I want you to know about Gratitude.....

When you are giving thanks, you FEEL GOOD!

Putting more into knowledge

Triggered by the Internet, continuing adult education may well become our greatest growth industry - by Peter Drucker

Education is already grabbing a major chunk of America’s gross national product. I believe that the U.S. now spends around $1 trillion on education and training. This number will increase rapidly, but the growth won’t be in traditional schools, which currently take about 10% of the GNP (kindergarten through high school, 6%; colleges and universities, 4%).

The growth will be in continuing adult education. Online delivery is the trigger for this growth, but the demand for lifetime education stems from profound changes in society. In simplest terms, people who are already highly educated and high achievers increasingly sense that they are not keeping up. They’ve come back to school because they want and need new ways of looking at things outside of their competencies. They want to learn to see things whole. Many of them are there to reflect on their experiences, to see them in a broader perspective. They need this perspective to cope with today’s bewildering technological and economic changes. The market for continuing education is already much bigger than most people realize. A good guess is that it already accounts for 6% of GNP in the U.S. and is rapidly getting there in other developed countries. It is going to get a lot higher.

Why this explosion of demand? We live in an economy where knowledge, not buildings and machinery, is the chief resource and where knowledge-workers make up the biggest part of the work force. Until well into the 20th century, most workers were manual workers. Today in the U.S., only about 20% do manual work. Of the remainder, nearly half, 40% of our total work force, are knowledge-workers. Again, the proportions are roughly similar for other developed countries. Workers have always had to gain skills, but knowledge is different from skill. Skills change very slowly. My Dutch ancestors- drucker means "printer" in Dutch- ran a print shop in Amsterdam from 1517 until around 1730. In all those centuries none of them had to learn a new skill. It was the same in most industries. In dress-making there hasn’t been a new skill required since a Hungarian invented the buttonhole in the 11th century.

For most of human history a skilled worker had learned what he needed to learn by the time his apprenticeship was finished at 18 or 19. Not so with the modern knowledge-worker. Physicians, medical technicians in the pathology lab, computer-repair people, lawyers and human resource managers can scarcely keep up with developments in their fields. This is why so many professional associations put continuing education among their highest priorities.

Keeping up with knowledge and seeing the world whole mattered less in the days of lifetime employment. When young people took a job at Metropolitan Life or the telephone company or General Motors or Royal Dutch / Shell or Mitsubishi, they often expected to remain there until retirement.

As giant companies spin off manufacturing operations in favor of outsourcing, job turnover mounts. A young person entering the work force in 2000, with a possible working life of 50 years, has little expectation and almost no chance of working for the same company even a decade hence. In this world people must take responsibility for their own futures. They cannot simply count on ascending a career ladder.

A great thing about knowledge is that it is mobile and transferable. It belongs to you, not to your employer or the state. And it is highly marketable today.

With a potential market for continuing adult education thus embracing at least 40% of the typical developed-country’s work force, conventional institutions no longer suffice. They are too expensive and insufficiently accessible in a physical sense. In southern California, where I teach, the highways are clogged. People who have families and are already working a full day can ill afford the commuting time to get to a traditional school. They need accessible and flexible ways of learning.
Already colleges and universities are putting some of their best teachers and their best sources on the Internet. I myself just produced ten teaching programs to be marketed on the web. Students can access this sort of material from their homes at their own convenience.

People in the developing countries will be able to use the Internet to access the developed-world’s best brains and valuable data, without the expense of building and staffing great universities. Bright and ambitious young men and women of the emerging-market countries will get first-class educations without leaving home—thereby addressing the brain-drain problem that has helped to widen the gap between rich and poor nations.

Online teaching, however, is more than just time-efficient and cost-efficient. It is more flexible than the classroom in that the student not getting the point right away can replay the material. The interactivity of online education, its facility for blending graphics and pictures with the spoken word, give it an advantage over the typical classroom. With the interactivity of the Internet, we get the equivalent of a one-to-one teacher-student ratio.

Judging by historical experience, the new online continuing education of the already well-educated will not replace traditional education. New channels of distribution are typically additions and complements rather than replacements. Television, for example, did not kill radio or magazines or books. The new medium, TV, walked off with much of the growth, but the other media continued to thrive and grow, too.

Online continuing education is creating a new and distinct educational realm, and it is the future of education. There is a global market here that is potentially worth hundreds of billions of dollars.

"A Paradigm Shift!"

Hey everyone, As you may know the Science of Getting Rich Program
is out and its hot. I just got back from Florida so I know what
hot is like. I was introduced to the opportunity on Friday and I
immediately thought about the chapter Decision in Think and Grow Rich.

Well I made the decision quickly the way Napoleon Hill found that
successful people do. Don't hesitate, don't delay.

And that's what I did. I sent out a few emails to my friends/associates
and went back to enjoying my vacation. Saturday I went jetskiing,
Sunday I spent the day at the beach, and Monday morning I rolled
out of bed in my boxers and checked my email. I had already earned
$3000 in sales!

Not a bad way to earn a few grand huh?

I have dozens of sales pending too. I experienced an immediate
paradigm shift because I now have to EXPECT a check, something
I didn't really do before.

I'm heading to bed now to earn what I now call sleep money.

EDISON FAILED 10,000 TIMES BEFORE PERFECTING THE INCANDESCENT ELECTRIC LIGHTBULB. DON’T WORRY IF YOU FAIL ONCE.

Arguably America’s greatest inventor, Thomas Edison had an extraordinarily positive perception of life that greatly enhanced his ability as an inventory. When others might have been hopelessly discouraged after failing thousands of times in an attempt to develop an electric light, the great Edison simply viewed each unsuccessful experiment as the elimination of a solution that wouldn’t work, thereby moving him that much closer to a successful solution. We could all take a lesson from Edison. Stories abound about inventors who quit trying and gave up too soon or miners who struck gold just a few feet beyond where someone else quit digging. There are few obstacles in life that will not succumb to consistent, sustained, intelligent, positive action. When you are discouraged after you’ve failed at something, remember Edison’s 10,000 failures before he arrived at the solution that forever changed the world.

A Prosperity Blessing

May you be blessed with an amazingly abundant day today!

May the clouds break and the heavens pour down upon you more joy, more love, more laughter and more money than you could have ever dreamed of.

May the sun shine its golden light of prosperity through every cell of your extraordinary body.

May you be cleansed today of any resistance or feelings of unworthiness
that you may still be holding onto.

May your false illusions of doubt, fear and scarcity gently fall away like
soft white feathers on a gentle breeze.

May you be willing, simply willing, to allow the Universe to shower you
with miracles today.

May the Angels wrap you in their shining wings of opulence.

May the fairies deliver you to their pot of gold at the end of a majestic rainbow.

May your eyes shine with the glorious truth of who you really are and may
that truth uplift others in your presence to their own inner knowing.

May your ears hear the sound of perfection ringing in your soul.

May you taste the deliciousness of every precious bite of life as your day
unfolds moment by moment with amazing grace, heartfelt love and a
bounty of magnificent money.

As this day ends, may you slumber wrapped in an exquisite blanket of
enduring peace and profound gratitude.

And may the last words you speak today be Thank You!

The Secret: Das Geheimnis der Reichen

What the Bleep Do We (K)now? schraubte die Begeisterung für diese Botschaft in multimediale Höhen.

The Terror Barrier by Bob Proctor

The first ten years of my stay here on Planet Earth were spent in Owen Sound, Ontario. I can vividly remember the hot summer day I was taken by an older member of my family to Harrison Park where there was a fine swimming pool. The older kids were going up the ladder and jumping or diving off the high diving board. They were having a great time. Wanting to be accepted by the older kids, I too went up the ladder, reluctantly, but I climbed it.

I will never forget the terror that gripped my mind and body when I looked down. Their coaxing did absolutely no good. There was no way I was going off that board. I climbed back down the ladder.

That was the first time in my life that I can recall coming up against the Terror Barrier. I not only lost out on the excitement and thrill that would have been gained by jumping. I lost a little self-respect also.

If you think hard enough, you will recall the first time you came face to face with the Terror Barrier. You either stepped through it to freedom or back into bondage, imprisoned by your own fears.

I continued to step back from anything I truly feared until I was twenty-six years of age. Then with the encouragement of a caring person, I said "no more" and I have been free ever since.

The Terror Barrier comes up in front of us every time we attempt to make a major move in life, into an area we have never traveled before.

I have sold businesses in Canada, the U.S.A. and England for years and I could not even guess at the number of times I have sat with men and women who come right up to that barrier wanting to go ahead but not being able to. These were people who could have succeeded and wanted to, but didn't.

Is that Terror Barrier holding you or your business back? Do what I did and crash through. The compensation is incredible.

Is Opportunity Monopolized?

Michael Bernard Beckwith in
Session No. 3
"The Secret Science of Getting Rich"

Is Opportunity Monopolized?

People Labour under the False Idea that they´re Living
in a Universe of Lack and Limitation and Not-Enoughness.

Please Understand that the Universe is the Manifestation of the Order,
the Harmony and the Intelligence of the Mind of God.

It is Infinite. It is Abundant.

As a Matter of Fact the Visible Universe is this the Tip of the Iceberg
of what is contained within the Mind of God.

The Good that You are Seeking, the Good you wish to express in Your Life,
the Good You Wish to Embody and Reveal comes from a Source and
a Supply that is Infinite beyond Measure.

YOU have the Capacity to Release all of that Power and
to Reveal it in Your Life NOW.

There is the Unmanifest and there is the Manifest;
there is the Visible - there is the Invisible;
there is the Wave - there is the Particle -
if You want to Use Quantum Analogy.

So Understand:

You´re Living in a Sea of Abundance.

As You Begin to Realise this; as You Begin to Understand this,
You´ll Begin to Understand,
that there is Infinte Opportunities in Front of You ... All the time;
there is Infinite Capacity within You ... All the time;
there is Infinite Power within You ... All the time.

The Great Secret is Available to All.

You don´t need to Be a Special Person;
You don´t to be Born under a Lucky Star;
the Numbers don´t have to be lined up in - it´s just perfectly;

this Secret when You Begin to Understand it will Change Your Life
and it is Now Available to YOU...

Sir Winston Churchill quote

We make a living by what we get,
we make a life by what we give.

Sir Winston Churchill
British politician (1874 - 1965)

Quotes from the Science of Getting Rich

Quotes from the Science of Getting Rich
by Wallace Wattles

SGR book Quotes

There is nothing wrong in wanting to get rich. The desire for riches is really the desire for a richer, fuller, and more abundant life; and that desire is praise worthy.

The ownership of money and property comes as a result of doing things in a certain way; those who do things in this Certain Way, whether on purpose or accidentally, get rich.

You may be the poorest man on the continent, and be deeply in debt; you may have neither friends, influence, nor resources; but if you begin to do things in this way, you must infallibly begin to get rich.

After once forming the thought, have the most absolute and unquestioning faith that what you want is coming; never think of it, or speak, of it, in any other way than as being sure to arrive. Claim it as already yours.

First, you believe that there is one Intelligent Substance, from which all things proceed; second, you believe that this Substance gives you everything you desire; and third, you relate yourself to it by a feeling of deep and profound gratitude.

Many people who order their lives rightly in all other ways are kept in poverty by their lack of gratitude. Having received one gift from God, they cut the wires which connect them with Him by failing to make acknowledgment.

The value of gratitude does not consist solely in getting you more blessings in the future. Without gratitude you cannot long keep from dissatisfied thought regarding things as they are.

The grateful mind is constantly fixed upon the best; therefore it tends to become the best; it takes the form or character of the best, and will receive the best.

He who has no feeling of gratitude cannot long retain a living faith; and without a living faith you cannot get rich by the creative method.

See the things you want as if they were actually around you all the time; see yourself as owning and using them. Make use of them in imagination just as you will use them when they are your tangible possessions.

When you know what to think and do, then you must use your will to compel yourself to think and do the right things. That is the legitimate use of the will in getting what you want--to use it in holding yourself to the right course. Use your will to keep yourself thinking and acting in the Certain Way.

Every act can be made strong and efficient by holding your vision while you are doing it, and putting the whole power of your FAITH and PURPOSE into it.

Do, every day, all that you can do that day, and do each act in an efficient manner. In saying that you must hold your vision while you are doing each act, however trivial or commonplace.

A day or two spent in contemplating the vision of what you want, and in earnest thanksgiving that you are getting it, will bring your mind into such close relationship with the Supreme that you will make no mistake when you do act.

Whenever you do fall into old ways of thought, correct yourself instantly; for when you are in the competitive mind, you have lost the cooperation of the Mind of the Whole.

Guard your speech. Never speak of yourself, your affairs, or of anything else in a discouraged or discouraging way. Never admit the possibility of failure, or speak in a way that infers failure as a possibility.

Inspiring Quotes About the Law of Attraction

Don't believe that the Law of Attraction is real, well, you're just about the only one.
See the company the law keeps below.
And, if you already "get" the law of attraction, know *you* are not alone.

"I am no longer cursed by poverty because I took possession of my own mind, and that mind has yielded me every material thing I want, and much more than I need. But this power of mind is a universal one, available to the humblest person as it is to the greatest." -Andrew Carnegie

"It is done unto you as you believe..." -Jesus

"The secret is the answer to all that has been all this is and all that will be"
- Ralph Waldo Emerson 1803-1882

"You create your own universe as you go along" - Winston Churchill 1874-1965

"Take the first step in faith you don't have to see the whole staircase just take the first step" - Martin Luther King Jr. 1929-1968

"All that we are is the result of what we have thought." - Buddha

"Whatever we think about and thank about we bring about." - John Demartini

"What power this is I cannot say. All that I know is that it exists."
- Alexander Graham Bell 1847-1922

"Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions."
- Albert Einstein 1879-1955

"What you resist persists." - Carl Jung 1875-1961

"All power is from within and is therefore under our control" - Robert Collier 1885-1950

"Whether you think you can or can't either way you are right."
- Henry Ford 1863-1947 (This is your lensmaster's personal favorite.)

"Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls" - Joseph Campbell 1904-1987

"All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force... We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind. This Mind is the matrix of all matter."
- Max Planck (Nobel Prize in Physics 1918)

"Be the change you wish to see in the world." -Gandhi

"Until one is committed there is hesitating, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans. That the moment one definitely commits oneself, Providence moves, too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamed would have come his way." - John Wolfgang Goethe

"To gain happiness, you must learn to enjoy that which you have. It is not how much you have. It is what we THINK about that which we have that produces happiness. In building a happy, contented live, you must give happiness to others. No one living unto himself will ever be contented with his lot. Your happiness is reflected upon you through the service you give to others. And the thought you give to the creation of happiness will attract a happiness-service from others. Start creating the happiness-habit by producing happy, love-filled thoughts.Happiness is an attribute of love; therefore, you can never be happy until you give your love to others." - Dr. Forest C. Shaklee Sr.

"Life is a mirror of your consistent thoughts." - Napoleon Hill author of Think and Grow Rich
